I noticed the handle starting to crack only a month after we got it, but decided to keep using it and to be careful with it. Even with careful usage, it still ultimately broke completely. I found this out when I took a big bite out of two pieces of broken plastic from the handle while eating a waffle. This is very dangerous and I will be reporting the flaw to Kitchen Aid. I just use this for everyday cooking and baking. I have a stand mixer if I needed heavy duty whipping so this whisk was not abused. I bought this in May and now it is december and my whisk is falling apart. It started with the Chrome finish plastic ring around the base of the metal whisk slowly breaking. By december, the outer most metal loop fell off. I tried contacting the Customer Service number provided here on Amazon and it does not work...I really liked the color and How well it worked. While my wife was using it on July 22nd or two months after purchasing it, the handle CRACKED/BROKE into several pieces. We had never sent this thru the dishwasher and my wife was only "whisking" cake batter; something she had done several times in the past. Unsure if others have had the same experience but the quality of this item seems to be "POOR". - 1.0 out of 5 stars from Rand -- Don't buy it. ** PLASTIC JUNK** : The piece at the top of the handle that holds the whips in place is PLASTIC. It fell apart just after 3 uses. I was using it to stir sugar and Apple cider vinegar until the sugar dissolved. Unfortunately I didn't notice it until I was done making my coleslaw. I picked the whisk up to clean it and noticed something in between the wire pieces. It was a small chunk of plastic that broke off. I discovered the rest of the piece was broken and a couple of small pieces missing. My coleslaw was ruined not knowing where the pieces were I had to toss it. But after using the first one for about a month and yes I do put it in the silverware tray of my dishwasher, a large piece of the ring surrounding the base of the whisk at the handle broke off while I was using it. Los materiales se sienten de muy buena calidad, y en comparacion a otros del mismo precio e incluso mayores, este tiene mejor calidad. El manejo es excelente ya que el globo tiene muy buena resistencia y no se dobla o se mueve mucho al momento de batir, lo que es muy util cuando vas a batir claras de huevo a punto de turrón, el movimiento es firme y hay otros productos que se mueven mucho y hacen que te tardes un poco mas en realizar esto.
